12 hour shift4/1/2023 ![]() Organise as much as possible the night before by: Preparation is so important when it comes to working long shifts. The long-term benefits of stretching are truly incredible. After every stretching session, you should feel a little boost of energy, and you re-energise your muscles. You should try stretching every few hours if possible. Ensure that you stretch your neck, hands and backs if you are spending a lot of time in a seated position. If you have a job, such as packing, where you sit in one position for the majority of your shift and perform the same movements over and over again, you need to prioritise stretching! Stretching will prevent any muscle cramps and prevent long-term muscular issues. The quality of your sleep is also just as important as the length of your sleep, so ensure that you’re sleeping in a quiet environment with no disturbances if possible.īeing well-rested will help you maintain a positive attitude during your shift, and getting enough sleep also plays an integral role in your general health. Remember that 8 hours of sleep is ideal, but 6 hours will also do if you’re struggling to find time for 8 hours. This may seem very obvious, but when you are working 12-hour shifts, it’s important that you plan your sleep schedule around them. Here are ten tips to help you survive your shifts and maintain your motivation and general health when working long hours. Whatever line of work you’re in, 12-hour shifts can leave you feeling mentally and physically drained. After a while, the schedule can cause increased fatigue and interrupt your sleep schedule. If you’re in a position where you have to work twelve-hour shifts, you’ll know just how long those twelve hours can feel! In the UK, 12-hour shift jobs are usually night shifts, and the type of work can include anything from nursing to truck driving to production packing. On the other hand, since the schedule is set so far in advance, it can be difficult for employers to find coverage for employees who call in sick.įor employees, the long 12-hour shifts schedule can be tedious and may not align with the lives of their family and friends.Īdditionally, it can be hard to get used to the DuPont schedule. Disadvantages of the DuPont shift schedule ![]() That said, there are obviously some disadvantages as well. Planning vacations, family events, and other extracurricular activities is a lot easier with extended time off periods and plenty of scheduling notice. Having almost twice as many days off is a major benefit for those working on a DuPont schedule. With a DuPont schedule, employees have to work longer, 42-hour weeks, but they’re rewarded with 15 days off in every four-week cycle. In typical work schedules, full-time employees work eight hours a day for five days a week - a total of 40 hours a week and eight days off per month. ![]() For managers, this structure removes the stress of creating a shift schedule and makes it easier to accommodate employee time-off requests. Advantages of the DuPont shift scheduleĭuPont schedules are ideal for employers because they ensure at least two teams are on the clock. Using a DuPont shift schedule presents advantages and disadvantages for both employers and employees. The schedule template here illustrates an employee’s schedule when following the DuPont rotating shift pattern. At the end of each four-week period, the work schedule resets. This way, they can adequately provide 24/7 coverage with two teams working at all times.ĭuPont schedules operate on a repeat cycle. This rotating shift pattern requires four teams with each one following their own four-week schedule. That may not sound so bad at first glance, but employees could work up to 72 hours in a given week. Week 3: Have three days off, then work four consecutive day shifts.Īll shifts on a DuPont schedule are twelve-hour shifts, so employees average 42-hours throughout the four-week cycle on a rotating schedule. Week 2: Work three day shifts, have one day off, then work three night shifts. Week 1: Work four consecutive night shifts followed by three days off. The DuPont scheduling format is a fixed four-week cycle.

Macspice voltage divider code4/1/2023 So I assume I have a issue in relation to the adc input impedance here, I read the section "45.7.2.1 Track and Hold Time versus Source Output Impedance" of the datesheet but I don't get how can I apply those values to understand what I have to do to calculate this in the proper way Here is a table with the values from the 10 + 1 voltage divider, the 100 + 10 are very similar and the 4.7 + 1 is better in the relation that the diference from the lower and the higher gain is lower (5.1 to 5.738). But on my test I need to set it as low as 7.5 to measure a input voltage of 0.5v and as high I go I need to make the Gain bigger and bigger even above the 11 that I calculate. The problem I'm having is that the Gain multiplier that I have to use is not a fixed value.įor example in the 100 + 10 or 10 + 1 the Gain is around 11 (I have properly mesure the resistor to make shore what the real value is on my case 10.985). The maximum voltage in this case is 12v but I wanna to use up to 18v. I have tested 3 combination of voltage divider, 100k + 10K, 10k + 1K and 4.7k + 1K I have set 6 adc ports to read the same input, in order to have a more accurate measure. I'm calling the "Gain bug", the Gain or the multiplier that is used to correct the measure voltage from the voltage divider. Read the bellow to understand the problem. What are the recommended values for the DUE? ![]() But high value resistors also protects the circuits effectively. How do I take in consideration the "adc input impedance" to proper mesure the voltage on a voltage divider? Linear Voltage Regulators also offer additional protections that you may want to consider. If your source voltage is constant and regulated, a divider is ok. If the input voltage is higher, the output voltage will also be higher, proportionally, with a divider. The main difference between a voltage divider circuit made off two resistors and a Linear Voltage Regulator (LDO or non-LDO) is that the Linear Voltage Regulator will always output the same voltage regardless of the input voltage whereas the resistor divider will only divide, not regulate the voltage. The total value between source to ground defines the power loss. In the case of signal input, in order to limit current consumption, use high value resistors in your voltage divider: 22K or more. If the goal is to provide a 3V signal to an ic input, it's also fine since it consumes very little. In another example, using a voltage divider circuit or a Linear Voltage Regulator when you need to convert 5V to 3V for an application consuming more less 100mA is fine. With a 20V difference, even 100mA can generate enough power dissipation to consider using a step-down regulator. I was wondering whether there's any problem in using the divider instead of step-down regulator.Ī step-down regulator (Switching regulator) is better or required when the Power Dissipation using a voltage divider circuit or a Linear Voltage Regulator, is too high.įor example when you are powering a device from a much higher voltage source. I have never seen this or had to resort to it, so I suspect it is not commonly needed. An option (a bit odd, but potentially workable) would be to use a low quiescent current (Iq) linear regulator (possibly an LDO) to generate the 3.3V for the pullups. In micropower designs, the divider approach may not be the wisest option for that reason. Note that the divider will consume power even when SDA and SCL are not pulled down. ![]() Simulate this circuit – Schematic created using CircuitLab The effective pullup resistance is R1 in parallel with R2, which is (R1*R2)/(R1+R2). The effective pullup voltage is V * R2 / (R1+R2) where R1 is the upper leg of the divider and R2 is the lower leg of the divider. ![]() The basic answer is, yes, you can use a divider for pullup. In your application that would be the Raspberry Pi VCC, I guess.īut it is still an interesting question. The best option, when possible, especially in the case where there is a single I2C master, is to pull up to the same VCC as the I2C master. Jiffy lube locations4/1/2023 We went ahead and tested the Jiffy Lube oil change experience ourselves to see if all of the bad hype is true. ![]() What's the real cost of a Jiffy Lube oil change? Both technically have caffeine, but one is custom brewed to your liking and the other simply suffices to give you a boost and should be avoided in order to ensure a vehicle's longevity. In essence, it’s the difference between ordering a coffee with the exact amount of cream and sugar that you prefer, or grabbing a generic premade coffee that may not suit your tastes. points out that, to cut costs & offer bargains, most quick lube shops only keep several common oil types on hand in bulk, and therefore may not necessarily use the optimal OEM recommended oil. Each Jiffy Lube shop is an independently operated franchise. We can’t speak for all Jiffy Lubes with certainty. “Not only are those prices not real, but you have to ask where they’re skimping on costs, and it may be that they’re skipping important steps or aren’t using the best supplies.” Does Jiffy Lube use quality oil? “Quick lube centers plays on people’s desire to get a bargain and because people don’t know a lot about oil changes they look for price and brand recognition,” says Randy B. “You don’t want an oil change that’s only $19.99 because just the oil itself - if it’s quality oil - should cost around $25 for about five to seven quarts, and you want the person doing the oil change to be skilled and paid fairly, so there’s nearly no way to do a good job at rock bottom prices,” says Randy B. ![]() The customer stories on the site echo many of the issues aired by customers who’ve given some Jiffy Lube service centers an “F” or a one-star review like on BBB or Yelp, sometimes because they are upset about being promised a certain price, but are ultimately charged a significantly higher price at the end of their appointments.Īccording to YourMechanic’s ASE-certified Master Technician Randy B., a deeply discounted oil change may be too good to be true because the supplies alone cost more than the promotional price of $19.99. Since the 2000’s, customers have been tracking their experiences on a site where they commiserate about their experiences called. Some Jiffy Lube service centers receive rave reviews on sites like BBB and Yelp others are sources of consumer frustration and complaints. ![]() Because Jiffy Lube service centers are franchise businesses, owned and operated by individual owners, customer experiences aren’t always consistent.
